The following sections list the error messages that can occur during configuration or run-time.
Analysis Rule Configuration Error Messages
The following table lists configuration error messages for the Component Mass Balance Analysis Rule.

Analysis Rule Run-Time Error Messages
In the configuration of the Component Mass Balance Analysis Rule and in the execution of an analysis Case using this rule, a series of errors and messaging can occur.

| Get a value of the Y Attribute has failed | An Attribute value cannot be read using the data reference. | |
| The value is not good. | A value was determined not to be good. Either there is a flag on the value saying it is not good, or the analysis rule has found the data not to be of the right type for the parameter. | |
| Partial Transfer 'Y'. Using [PartialValue] out of [TransferValue] | The transfer time span is greater then the time range of the Case and the value quantity is prorated. | |
| During Validation Phase | See messaging in Gross Error Analysis Rule. | During validation of the analysis rule. |
| During Case Run Phase | The previous Case does not exist. | The analysis rules requires collected inputs for at least one Case prior to one that a component mass balance is run. |
| During Publishing Phase | Cannot set value of Element Attribute X.Y: [message] | If an Attribute value can not be written (SetValue), this error will occur. The [message] will be additional information as to why this occurred. |
Component Viewer Error Messages
When the Component Viewer encounters a problem, a message is displayed in the dialog box. The following table summarizes the error messages.

| "This data reference can only be used under Case context." | Informational | Click Cancel. Browse to the Attribute within the Element collection in the case. |
| "This data reference can only be used with the Component Balance analysis rule." | Informational | Click Cancel. |
| "The Data Table cannot be adjusted before the Analysis Rule is executed.” | Informational | Close viewer and execute the Component Analysis Rule. Then enter adjustments. |
| "Quantities are set up only in tanks." | Informational | Close viewer. |
